A 21-YEAR-OLD had to be evacuated by helicopter on Sunday morning after a serious accident when riding a horse in Cala Mesquida left her with head injuries.
The head injuries were serious enough that the attending ambulance crew called for evacuation to Son Espases hospital by helicopter.
Reports said that the initial fall from the horse caused a blow to the head, however the situation was made much worse when the horse inadvertently trampled on her head, leaving the young woman with life threatening injuries.
The Guardia Civil helicopter picked up the wounded woman and evacuated her to hospital in Son Espases, where she was admitted in a serious condition.
