QUEEN Letizia of Spain is carrying on the legacy of former Queen Sofia as she takes her first cooperation trip to Honduras and El Salvador.After a 13-hour flight, the Queen landed at the air base Enrique Soto Cano of Comayagua, Honduras, where she was welcomed by the country’s First Lady, Ana Rosalinda Garcia, and government representatives.This is the first time Queen Letizia has travelled to Latin America on her own on a trip that aims to raise awareness of the cooperation projects carried out by Spain in Honduras and El Salvador.Former Queen Sofia carried out 29 such visits, the last one in Guatemala.In Tegucigalpa, Letizia will visit the National University of Honduras Free Legal Office (UNAH), paid for with Spanish funds, where citizens who cannot afford legal counselling can access the service for free, especially women survivors of domestic violence.The Queen is leave for El Salvador on Tuesday afternoon, where she will stay until Thursday.
