Spanish Eurovision singer disappointed but happy

EDURNE, this year’s Spanish representative at the Eurovision song contest, talked to the RTVE first channel upon her arrival back from Austria.
The young singer did not score a great result at the contest, with only 15 points placing her in 21st position out of 27 finalists.
However, the ever-positive artist claimed to be “super-happy” after her performance in the competition.
“I am extremely happy because I believe that we have done our best,” said a euphoric Edurne after the contest. “I am satisfied and I think the votes were not up to me. Don’t worry about me because I am really happy with our work.”
“I really thought our chances of winning this year were high,” the young artist admitted afterwards, and continued, “I am disappointed because I do not think that all our effort was valued, I think we deserved a higher score.”
Finally, she said that she would not do anything differently if she could go back.
Thousands of fans posted messages on social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter protesting her poor result, including the singer’s boyfriend, footballer David De Gea, who tweeted: “I thought music was more important than nationality in Eurovision.”
