Flamenco musician dies after short battle with cancer

HAVING refused treatment for cancer, composer, singer and guitarist Manuel Molino has died. After a short battle with the deadly disease, he passed away on Tuesday, at the age of 67.
The musician, who was based in Seville, along with his partner Lole Montoya were the leaders in the genre of flamenco. They were the first flamenco duo to perform to an audience not familiar with the, now much-loved, Andalucian music style.
He is also survived by his daughter and artistic partner, Alba Molina.
Fans will have the opportunity to bid farewell to him at the Teatro Romero theatre in San Juan de Aznalfarache (Seville).
