BUCKINGHAM Palace has announced that the Queen will be visiting the site of the Bergen-Belsen Nazi concentration camp during a visit to Germany next month.
The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh are to make a four-day state visit to the country starting on June 23, and other plans include a trip to Frankfurt and meeting Chancellor Angela Merkel.
The royal couple will be visiting a number of memorials at the site of the concentration camp, which was liberated by British troops in April 1945, including one dedicated to Anne Frank, who died there.
The Queen will also be meeting groups of survivors and liberators from the camp and representatives of the Jewish and Christian communities, the palace has announced.
