PARENTS from the Virgen de la Esperanza secondary school in La Linea are demanding more cleaners for the centre. The school, one of the biggest in Andalucia, has more than 1,300 pupils and is open from 8am to 9.30pm, yet only has two full time and three part time cleaners. The PTA said the school has been asking for more cleaners since 1999 but was always told there wasn’t enough money to take on extra staff, but believes part of the problem could be that as staff and pupils all help keep it clean, the authorities think more cleaners are not needed.PTA president Manoli Alvarez said: “The cleaners employed are nowhere near enough to keep such a massive school clean.”
