‘Being generous is an art’ campaign promotes pet adoption

RESIDENTS of Motril who decide to adopt an abandoned pet from the municipal animal pound will receive a painting, a photograph or a sculpture of their newly welcomed friend.
The initiative, launched by the council Health Department, local art school and art academy D’Arte, aims to promote pet adoption.
All pieces of art will be created by the school and academy students, who have shown great interest in the campaign, according to teacher Olimpia Manjon.
Head of the health department Margarita Yanguas explained that adopting a pet from the municipal pound was as easy as attending the facilities and requesting information about what kind of pet is most suitable. Staff at the centre provide those interested with information and the necessary documents. The only fee requested is the vaccination cost and the health passport for the adopted pet.
