Police hunt for tweeter who ‘insulted’ PM and Malaga mayor

MALAGA Council has reported a Twitter user to the police for calling Spanish PM Mariano Rajoy and Malaga City Mayor Francisco de la Torre corrupt.

The message was tweeted on March 28 when the PM visited the city to open the Centro Pompidou museum.

User @antictona, who currently has privacy settings in place meaning tweets can only be seen by 762 followers, typed: “The corrupt president and the corrupt mayor. Great photo.”

The tweet was accompanied by a photo from the museum opening showing the PM and mayor along with French Culture Minister Fleur Pellerin and former Pompidou Paris chief, Alain Seban.

Municipal sources confirmed that after the tweet was spotted it was sent to the council’s legal department for consideration and the lawyers presented a complaint, urging the police to identify the tweeter.
