Early heat wave to hit Spain

A MASS of hot, dry air from Africa will be treating Spain to a heat wave over the next few days with temperatures of up to 35 ºC forecast in some areas of the country.
The AEMET Spanish state weather office has warned that exceptionally high temperatures for this time of year can be expected as of tomorrow, Saturday May 8, particularly in the southern and central areas of the country and the Ebro valley.
Temperatures are expected to continue rising until Monday, and will begin to drop in northern Spain as of Tuesday as a mass of cooler air arrives from the Atlantic. The lower temperatures may reach the rest of the country by Thursday or Friday, the AEMET predicts.
