Senior Chaplains installed

THE CONGREGATION at La Hermita de San Josep

TWO new Church of England chaplains were licensed on Friday May 1 at a special service held at the beautiful Ermita de San Josep, La Fustera.
The chapel was packed with a congregation of more than 150 for the moving service led by The Archdeacon of Gibraltar, the Venerable Geoff Johnston, as emissary of the Bishop of Europe, with the assistance of several other members of the local clergy.
The new team
The Revd Marcus Ronchetti was installed as the new Senior Chaplain, taking over from Revd Canon Peter Edwards who retired recently after twelve years of service to the community.
Father Marcus will now have the overall responsibility for a parish which includes the churches in Gandia, Denia, Javea, La Fustera, Calpe, El Albir and El Campello.
The Revd Ray Andrews completes the team after working in South London. He will enjoy a roving brief as well as taking a special interest in the El Albir and El Campello churches.
