Reaping Westminster’s foul wind

LIBYA, until 2011, was Africa’s richest and most successful nation. Forget the propaganda of mainstream media. A few facts about President Gaddafi’s Libya. Through a system of tribal councils the Libyan nation was more representative than is the West’s flawed political process.
Under the colonel’s benign rule Libyans benefited from free electricity, interest-free loans, and the fruits of massive infrastructure investment despite sanctions imposed at the bequest of Western bankers.
Newlyweds received $50,000 with which to purchase their marital home, mothers received $5,000 for each child born. The country’s city transport infrastructure, in many respects, put ours to shame. What changed?

If Western politicians are your prey the slime trail is coated with corporate banknotes. Corruption, not national interest, underpins the West’s entire foreign policy.
When compared to many African nations, the descent into lawlessness and poverty suffered by once rich Libya, has transformed it into Africa’s most dangerous and unpleasant regime.
During the disastrous Libyan conflict, mainstream media, like a bunch of American football cheerleaders, whooped the Westminster line. Again, a sovereign nation’s head of state was demonised and set-up for the killer blow.

How much longer can the hapless EU endure? European Union sanctions backfired, EU foreign policy is non-existent. Russian President, Vladimir Putin, in as many words, observes “Protocol suggests that I confer with EU Foreign Ministers. In truth, I may as well go direct to Washington DC.”
Western European defence is entirely dependent upon US funded NATO. Today, Russian media smirks as the European Union reels from an influx of African immigrants it cannot hope to stem.
Let us cast our minds back to before NATO overthrew the Gaddafi governance. Amnesty International, along with many others, places the blame on the EU ending of the Mare Nostrum initiative. This was a mutual arrangement of coastal defence administered by Gaddafi’s Libya and Italy. It was so successful there was little point in African immigrants considering the perilous crossing.
Today, the murdered Gaddafi prophecy is coming true. He warned the then Italian President Silvio Berlusconi of the likely consequences of the NATO West removing him. “Europe might no longer be European, it would be black as millions of Africans pour into Europe.”
Wherever the smiling colonel is he certainly wiped the smile off our smug faces.
Once again, ordinary Europeans suffer the ghastly consequences of Brussels and Westminster’s incompetence and corruption. These are the only people I want to see on a rickety vessel attempting to cross the Mediterranean – on a course set for Africa.
