Aguilas welcomes the king

IN support of registered charity Helping Hands, the European Elvis Tribute Champion, Simon Patrick, came to Aguilas.
The long-awaited, sell-out concert began with guests enjoying a hot and cold buffet, followed by two magnificent performances by Simon, suitably justifying his title of ‘Champion.’
With supporting professional DJ Steve King, the evening also included the usual raffle and a ‘Guess the Weight’ of a specially made Elvis cake. A brief video portraying the passion, commitment and hard work by the charity was also featured and the evening raised a total of €1,063.
Based in Lorca and Aguilas, Helping Hands consists of a very small team of English, Spanish, Belgian and German people, working to make a difference to the lives of animals and people alike. As with most charities, times are hard and they are struggling, caring for over 40 abandoned and ill-treated dogs, most of whom are housed at the homes of two Helping Hands members as the charity does not have a sanctuary.
Helping Hands are appealing for donations of any unwanted items that can be sold in their charity shop in Aguilas, in Calle Fuensanta to help with their monthly costs. Anyone who can help or make any donations should contact 968 482 948.
