Fruity festival in Sayalonga

SAYALONGA’S festival celebrating the nispero fruit, also known as a loquat or Chinese plum in English, is expected to draw around 8,000 people on Sunday (May 3).
During the 31st edition of this event, named a ‘Festival of National Tourist Interest,’ more than 2,000 kilos of the fruit, 500 litres of wine, nispero jam and liqueur will be given out to the public.
The day will begin at 12pm, and visitors will also be able to enjoy a folklore festival with the participation of a Comeras Verdiales traditional local dance group, as well as band Los Electroduendes, which will perform in the Rafael Alcoba square.
