TWO witnesses have made statements before a Malaga City judge regarding the case of a three-year-old boy who was found dead in February in a reservoir in the Montes de Malaga area.

Court investigations continue on the case, which saw the boy’s mother’s partner arrested as a suspect.

The man, who remains in police custody, is expected to be called to declare before the judge on Thursday, April 30.

The young boy’s parents made declarations in court last month, confirming their original statements to the Guardia Civil and both stressing that the boy could not swim, was scared of water and never ventured anywhere near the shore or a swimming pool alone.

The mother’s 23-year-old partner has been in police custody since the tragic event due to confusing statements which he put down to having taken a tranquiliser. Although he later denied it, during a statement to the Guardia Civil the man allegedly said he didn’t save the boy and let him drown because he was cross with his mother.
