Drought leaves Jalon without drinking water

JALON, a municipality of 3,000 inhabitants located in a valley (Vall de Pop) historically rich in water resources, is the first of the Marina Alta suffering the effects of drought. Mayor Joan Miquel Garces has issued an edict warning that the water is no longer potable. The latest analysis by Public Health found that salinity has skyrocketed.
Meanwhile, Jalon residents are forced to buy bottled water.
