Based on the true story of Walter Keane (Christoph Waltz) who was one of the most successful painters of the 1950s and early 60s.
He earned notoriety with his popular paintings of waifs with big eyes, however, the truth was they were all created by his wife and not by him.
The film centres on her awakening as an artist and her tumultuous relationship with her husband.
