Las Negras sets out its stalls

LAS NEGRAS: Site of the new open-air market.

ART and commerce have joined forces to provide Nijar with another open-air market.

The Soñadores del Arte (Art Dreamers) and the local Asociacion de Comerciantes have worked together to create the ‘mercadillo,’ the town’s first art and flea market, in Nijar’s Las Negras district. It is located in Calle Buendia and Cantos Rodados near the seafront Paseo.

The recently inaugurated open air market at Las Negras will be held on the third Sunday of each month between 10am and 2pm. This complements the main town’s existing market that is held every fourth Sunday and which has now switched its location to the central Church Square.

Coinciding with the start of the good weather, resident and visitors can browse the Las Negras stalls where they can discover art, antiques, handcrafted items, traditional food from all over the province and organic produce amongst other treats.

There will be live music and as well as the market stalls there will also be children’s workshops.
