Fun for all at La Nucia family day

ON Sunday La Nucia celebrated the Day of the Family – a free event organised by the Department of Social Services, which was held between 10am and 2pm.

The parking area at the front of the Camino Cano sports centre was turned into a giant leisure park, full of laughter and noise.
More than 4,000 people turned out, in particular children, for whom the event was specifically planned. Forty-four free activities had been laid on, which included 20 workshops, eight bouncy castles, four rides, 10 giant games – such as chess, ludo, snakes and ladders – and two playgrounds.

Popular cartoon and film characters mingled with the children, having their photos taken together. Parents and grandparents joined in the workshops, helping twist balloons into animals, making bracelets and colouring, achieving a hugely successful event aimed at family bonding.
