FRIGILIANA will be celebrating one of its most popular products at the Second Cane Honey Day, on Sunday (April 26).
The event will take place at Frigiliana’s Plaza del Ingenio, with a large number of stands where participants will be able to taste sweets made with cane honey as a main ingredient.
Visitors will be offered a guided tour around the town’s sugar and honey factory Nuestra Señora del Carmen, one of a kind in Europe and operational since 1720. They will have the chance to learn about the production process of the product, machinery used and the history of sugar production in Frigiliana. At the end of the visit, participants will be able to taste the sugar cane juice, from which the honey is produced.
There will also be live music, exhibitions on the central theme, photography and painting contests.
