VELEZ-MALAGA Council has installed 14 defibrillators at the town’s municipal facilities to be able to react to cardiovascular incidents.
The devices have been placed in the Fernando Ruiz Hierro indoor sports pavilion, the Maestro Salvador Sanchez in Torre del Mar, the sports centre Vivar Tellez, the Juan Manuel Azuaga football pitch, the seafront courts in Torre del Mar, the municipal football pitches in Almayate and Benajarafe, Torre del Mar’s the Day-Care Centre, as well as the town hall, the Torre del Mar indoor pool, the Marques de Beniel Palace, the police station and the Teatro del Carmen.
Human Resources councillor Manuel Gutierrez explained that the 14 devices had a cost of €34,000 and that 90 authorised people will be trained to be able to use them to be able to react in case of a cardiac arrest.
