ESTEPONA, Jardin de la Costa del Sol is a project the council has been working hard on over the last three years.
More than 6,000 trees and 400,000 plants and flowers have been replaced or added to the town in an aim to turn it into an environmentally friendly garden town and tourist destination.
Particular attention was paid to the old town, with 9,000 flowerpots added along the 12 kilometres of newly renovated streets, giving them a traditional Andalucian look.
Altogether 29 fountains, many of which have been empty for years, were restored and turned back on and schedules drawn up to maintain them and keep them working.
