Man shoots himself in Calvia

A 65-YEAR-OLD man suffered a severe injury after shooting himself in the chest at his ex-wife’s bar in Calvia.

The incident took place on Wednesday, April 15 at around 10.30am in a bar in Calle Albatros, in the Son Ferrer district.

Local authorities reported that the man entered the bar carrying a shotgun and his wife alerted the Guardia Civil a few minutes later. However, he shot himself before their arrival.

The man was taken to the Son Espases hospital in a critical condition.

Officers sealed off the area and are investigating the circumstances behind the incident.
