NERJA Council held a welcoming event on Wednesday (April 15) for Swedish travel agents who are visiting the town to learn about its tourist attractions.
Town mayor, Jose Miguel Garcia, and tourism councillor, Bernardo Pozuelo, together with other council representatives, presided over the event
Mr Garcia stressed that the number of Swedish citizens who chose to spend their holidays in Nerja has not stopped increasing during the past years, as well as the number of those who had a second home in the town.
“At the council, we have done our best to make this familiarisation trip happen. We would like the visitors to discover our town’s best tourist attractions so that they can pass it on to their future clients,” said the mayor.
Council representatives explained that these trips were aimed at reducing tourism seasonality and boosting the town’s economy and commerce during the low season.
