MIJAS Council continues to push one of the most emblematic pictures of the town with the launch of a new ‘burro taxi’ (donkey taxi) route.
A familiarisation trip was organised for almost 50 travel agents from across Malaga Province, who will be the first to try the new tour, which has been named “Burro Safari.”
“The goal of this familiarisation trip is to turn this attraction into a tourist destination on its own. We now wish tourists to come specifically for the donkey ride, and not only as a way to spend the day in Mijas,” said tourism councillor, Santiago Martin, who explained that the new route would cover the distance between the Plaza Virgen de la Peña to the Vial Sur.
