WITH local elections coming up, accusations are starting to fly about in many Costa del Sol towns and the latest bone of contention is paper bags.
PSOE socialist party spokesman in Fuengirola, Javier Garcia Leon has complained that the town’s council spent €6,500 on bags which were distributed to bakeries promoting the launch of the riverside park on March 28.
Garcia Leon complained that the campaign and the event itself, at which a great number of activities including surf and hot air balloon exhibitions were held, had been paid for with citizens’ money but were aimed to glorify the current council.
