A 35-YEAR-OLD man and a 30-year-old woman have been arrested in Palma as suspects of attacking a man who refused to give them a cigarette.
The incident took place at around 9pm on Monday (April 6), in the Bar Pacos, located at the intersection of Calle Torre d’en Bibiloni and Pare Miquel Mir (Foners District).
Several witnesses reported that the man was inside the bar drinking a coffee when a young couple approached him and asked him for a cigarette, but he refused. After the argument escalated, the woman allegedly broke a glass on the victim’s head and the man stabbed him on his abdomen.
They both fled the scene after the incident and the 48-year-old victim had to be taken to the Son Llatzer hospital in a critical condition.
The alleged culprits were found on Wednesday and remanded in prison.
