THE purchase and sale of properties in the Balearic Islands grew by 21.7 per cent in February if compared with the same month of 2014.
A total of 841 transfers were carried out during said month, according to the data released this Thursday (April 9) by the National Statistics Institute (INE).
The data is more than six times higher than the national average, which grew by 15.5 per cent.
The number of purchases and sales occurred in February in the Islands sits at 95 per 100,000 inhabitants, also above the average, which was of 80 transactions.
According to the results, the Balearic Islands are the fourth autonomous community in Spain with the highest increase, beaten only by Aragon (49.2 per cent), Madrid (28) and Cataluña (23.2).
