Throughout the Easter holidays in Nerja, the average hotel occupancy rate reached as high as 89.33 per cent.
This shows, according to the town’s mayor Jose Alberto Armijo, that the financial situation is in a recovery phase.
In addition, the mayor emphasised the town’s excellent safety record, as Local Police officers reported that no significant incidents had taken place during the holidays.
Head of the Business Owners’ Association, Angela Diaz, also commented on the great results and stressed that the occupancy levels had beaten the national average, which amounted to 81 per cent.
