Plaudits for Ronaldo after 9-1 demolition of Granada

RONALDO has been praised after Real Madrid’s nine-one destruction of Granada.

The Portuguese-born, Real Madrid striker scored five goals in the La Liga match on Sunday where the result was never really in doubt.

Madrid striker Karim Benzema was quoted as saying that his teammate was “simply phenomenal” and he deserved all the attention that he had received.

The game was important for Madrid’s confidence, having recently been defeated by Barcelona. Real Madrid currently sit four points behind Barcelona in La Liga. Benzema went on to stress that it was the win and the three points it gained the team that were most important, even though winning a game nine-one was exceptional. 

Granada won’t be so pleased, as the Andalucian club is now battling the prospect of relegation.
