Man severely injured in Marratxi garden accident

A 77-YEAR-OLD man has sustained severe injuries in Marratxi while he was working in a garden in Pla de na Tesa.

For reasons still unknown, the man’s leg got trapped under a tiller, whose blades caused severe cuts.

Local Police in Marratxi, together with the Guardia Civil, fire brigade and several ambulances attended the scene, which occurred in a property in the Son Llebre residential complex.

The rescue operation was extremely complicated as the man’s leg was stuck and twisted under the metal pieces and he had lost a great amount of blood.

The man remains at the Son Espases hospital in critical condition.
