THE Repsol Honda rider Dani Pedrosa underwent further surgery on Friday in Madrid to try to solve a problem in his right forearm that has made him rethink his future in MotoGP.
Pedrosa’s team announced Thursday that the 29-year agreed to the operation, confirming he will miss the next races in Austin and Argentina, and will be replaced by Hiroshi Aoyama, the Repsol test rider.
The team said in a statement, “Convalescence from 4 to 6 weeks is expected, although his return to competition will not be confirmed until Dr. Villamor can determine the success of the surgery.”
