THE average pension amount received by people in the Balearic Islands has reached €931.71 in March.
This number translates into a 2.3 per cent increase if compared with the same month of the previous year, according to the data provided by the Social Security National Institute (INSS).
However, the amount is also 84 euros lower than the national average, which sits at €1,015.
The average pension (which also includes income obtained for permanent inability, widowhood, orphanage and others) was €833.3 in January of 2014, a 2 per cent increase if compared with the first month of 2014.
Income for permanent inability currently amounts to €833, €569 for widowhood and €325 corresponding to orphanage.
On the other hand, 180,203 pensions were given in March, 13 per cent more than the same month of 2014.
