ECOVIDRIO, the non-profit association in charge of the recycling service of Spain has launched a campaign to encourage glass recycling in Mallorca.
Together with Mallorca Provincial Council and other town councils of the Island they have launched the campaign titled ‘I always get it right. Glass, in the green container,’ which aims at raising awareness on the great importance of glass recycling amongst visitors and locals alike.
Until May 10, representatives of the Council will visit the municipal markets of Inca, Manacor, Alcudia, Sineu, Llucmajor, Alaro, Sa Pobla, Campos and Felanitx, where an informative stand will be placed to inform about the appropriate ways to recycle, as well as its financial benefits.
During the second week, visitors who deposit glass in the right container will receive a small gift.
Last year, glass recycling increased in Mallorca by 5.5 per cent, thanks in part to initiatives like this one.
