THE mayor of Torremolinos has given Edificio Torresol 72 hours to carry out the work required to allow the Bajondillo public lift to be used safely.
As recently reported in EWN, the lift had to be closed due to problems with the adjoining wall, which belongs to the Torresol Community, leaving elderly local residents unable to get up to town or down to the beach.
Following repeated demands that the community had work carried out to repair the wall, Mayor Pedro Fernandez Montes issued the order and warned that if the work was not done the council would have to step in and the community would be charged for the work.
