CALPE’S cycling enthusiasts can look forward to trying out a new route linking the town with the Centro BTT Vall de Pop in Parcent.
The 50-kilometre route takes in a number of scenic and cultural attractions over a series of natural beauty spots.
“The new route will help promote active tourism on the Costa Blanca,” said Regional Secretary for Tourism and Trade Daniel Marco. “As well as showcasing the beauty of the Vall de Pop, the new cycle route will link the coast and the interior of the province.”
The route begins in Calpe centre where information panels are available. The course covers a host of attractions including the Pou Salat, the Vella Oltà Hermitage, and Hermitage dels Lleus plus riu-raus typical of the region. It travels through Salinas de Calpe, Ifach, the Serra de Oltà and Barranco de la Mola, among other places.
More than 450 restaurants are available on the new route; typical local cuisine may be sampled, in addition to hotels, apartments and mountain retreats.
BTT Network’s 10 centres offer around 126 routes covering nearly 4,000 kilometres.
