THE Fonts Ufanes, a unique natural phenomenon in which water bursts from the earth in Campanet, drew hundreds of people last week.
The heavy rains registered last week has caused this phenomenon for the first time in spring, and sixth this winter.
The Fonts Ufanes are endemic of Mallorca, and occur during a limited amount of time -usually, between one and seven days – and can reach a volume of up to 100,000 litres per second.
They were the first natural monument protected by law in the Balearic Islands in 2001.
They can visited at the public country house Gabelli Petit, which is open every day of the year between 10am and 7pm.
