Mountain bikers race to Huercal-Overa tower

HUERCAL-OVERA’S first mountain bike time trial will be held on May 10.

The race’s full name, “I Crono MTB Las Tres Torres Huercal-Overa,” pays tribute to the town’s Ballabona, Overa and El Castillo towers.

The race, which will be run over an 18-kilometre circuit mainly on off-road paths, ends with a taxing ascent on asphalt up to El Castillo. 

There is just one category for women riders but male contestants will be divided into Cadets, Under-23s, Masters and over-40 Veterans. There is also a special local category, the organisers announced.

It costs €10 to enter now or €15 on the day of the race. Numbers are limited to 100 and participants should register at www.asuspuestos.com
