Spain defeat the Netherlands in FINA Women’s Water Polo League

REIGNING world women’s water polo champions Spain inflicted an important defeat on the Netherlands, the current leaders of Group B.

The Netherlands still lead in the group with 12 points. Greece and the Netherlands are in equal second place with nine points each. The victory should provide a boost of confidence to the Spanish team as this is first defeat that the Netherlands have so far experienced in this year’s league.

Meanwhile Italy leads group A, also with 12 points each.

Spain faces another tough game against Greece on April 28 in Barcelona. The teams are competing for a place in the women’s Super Final, which is scheduled to take place in Shanghai from June 9 to 14 2015.
