Floods force Manacor Hospital to transfer patients

HEAVY rain and storms at the weekend in Mallorca caused floods on the fourth floor of Manacor’s Hospital.

Renovation work being carried out on the hospital’s roof is believed to have resulted in leaks, forcing staff to cover the floor with towels and buckets. However, these measures were not enough to prevent flooding.

In total, 50 patients had to be evacuated and transferred to hospitals in Llevant and Muro, while all surgery programmed has been cancelled until the work has been completed.
