THE AVE high-speed train is to arrive in Elche “as quickly as possible,” said the Minister for Development, Ana Pastor.
Pastor said the work plans were “advanced” and confirmed there is “sufficient” budget to carry out the work “as quickly as possible,” although no date has been finalised.
The AVE will serve Elche on the section from Monforte del Cid and Murcia which is budgeted at €6.5 million. Whilst not in Elche city itself, Pastor said there was a project to connect via a nearby station to offer better connectivity with the districts of the municipality and the cities of Alicante and Murcia.
