THE Spanish Central Government will compensate owners of homes expropriated to construct the A-7 and A-44 roads with a total of €23.2 million.
The roads A-7 (Mediterraneo Motorway) and the A-44 (Sierra Nevada-Costa Tropical) will force 320 Motril residents to leave their homes, who will receive a total of just over €8 million before June.
Eighty-four Salobreña owners will receive €1.9 million, €2.1 million is earmarked for Albuñol owners, and the same amount for owners in Gualchos-Castell de Ferro. Velez Benaudalla owners will receive €1.2 million and those in Almuñecar will obtain almost €1 million for their properties. Approximately a thousand owners will be compensated.
Eighty per cent of the homes whose owners will receive compensation are in the Costa Tropical.
