LESS than perfect weather conditions failed to put more than 500 Benalmadena citizens off taking part in the first Women’s Day Charity Race.
Organised by the council’s Equality department with collaboration from Triatlonfit, the race followed a three kilometre route from the marina to the Parque de la Paloma in Arroyo de la Miel.
Proceeds from the event, which reached €500, were donated to the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC).
Local Mayor Paloma Garcia Galvez, who took part in the event along with Equality councillor Ana Macias and other members of the council, said she was very happy with the turnout and that the race would become an annual event.
