UNEMPLOYED people of Mallorca above 45-years-old are in luck as up to 600 new jobs will be earmarked to them during the summer of 2015.

An agreement signed by the Balearic Islands regional government and the Mallorca Hotel Federation (FEHM) will aim at boosting employment amongst members of this community during the next summer season.

Head of the Hotel Federation Aurelio Vazquez, signed together with President of the Balearic Islands Jose Ramon Bauza an agreement to hire up to 600 people in a period which is expected to be ‘historical’ in terms of number of tourists and revenue, according to Mr Vazquez.

He explained that experts foresee the creation of up to 5,000 job vacancies next summer and stressed the vital role that British and German tourists are having in the recuperation of the tourism market.
