NEW KENNEL: land has been secured and fenced off and exciting plans will offer greater comfort and care for abandoned animals.
By Gemma Quinn
THE expatriate community is being called upon to help build kennels for a dogs’ home after the charity was evicted to make way for a golf course.
One of the longest running animal charities in the Vega Baja area, SAT Animal Rescue, is building a new facility in San Isidro.
SAT President Dave Moor is appealing to local residents, businesses and corporate investors to help fund the build, after a long and difficult struggle to get all the necessary licences in place.
A major fudraising drive is under way to secure the future of hundreds of dogs in the Vega Baja.
“We are wanting to have around €50,000 before we can start the actual building of the kennels and have raised €11,000 so far,” he explained. To date the charity has re-homed more than 7,400 dogs and its general running costs are around €16,000 a month.
If you can help sponsor a kennel or would like to ‘buy a brick’, contact SAT now on 966 710 047 or email info@satanimalrescue.com.
