GUARDIA CIVIL officers have arrested a man at Motril’s Port for attempting to embark a boat to Melilla on a vehicle with fake documents.
The man, a 41-year-old Moroccan residing in Charleroi (Belgium), was intercepted at the customs inspection of the Volcan de Tinamar boat, driving a car with temporary licence plates from Holland.
When the officers checked the vehicle documents they detected anomalies, so the car remained immobilised.
Dutch authorities confirmed to the Guardia Civil that the car was never registered in Holland and that they believed the documents to be false.
The man was taken into custody for a crime of document forgery.
