HARRISON Ford has been injured while making an emergency landing on a Los Angeles golf course.

The 72-year-old Indiana Jones and Star Wars star was flying solo in his vintage plane when he reported engine failure and radioed Santa Monica airport to inform of his immediate return.

Yet Ford found himself unable to reach the runway and had to bring the plane down near the eighth hole of the golf course, witnesses reported.

Christian Fry of the Santa Monica Airport Association said it was: “an absolutely beautifully executed emergency landing by an unbelievably well-trained pilot.”

A fire department spokesman explained that the actor was breathing, alert and in a ‘fair to moderate’ condition when paramedics arrived to take him to hospital, and his son Ben later tweeted from the hospital: “Dad is OK. Battered but OK!

His publicist said: “The injuries sustained are not life threatening, and he is expected to make a full recovery.”
