THE price of a ‘bombona,’ the traditional orange butane gas bottle used in many Spanish homes, will fall by 9.7 per cent in Spain next week.
The government has announced that the price of 12.5 kilo bottles, a typical sight for anyone living or visiting Spain, will be set at €15.8 for March and April, and may see further reductions in May and June, due to a new formula used to calculate prices for liquid gases derived from petroleum.
Although bottle prices are supposed to be reviewed every two months to take into account fluctuations in prime material costs, the government froze the price at €17.5 some time ago.
