ONE of the biggest fairs in the Balearic Islands, the Fira del Ram in Palma, was inaugurated last Tuesday (March 3) at the fairground of Son Fusteret.
The fair covers a surface of 45,000 square metres and has a total of 170 attractions, stands and bars.
Mayor of Palma, Mateo Isern, officially opened the fair, which will remain open until April 19.
On Sundays and public holidays, visitors will be able to enjoy the fair all day, with it being open afternoons only the rest of the time.
“This fair has become one of the most traditional events of our city,” said Mr Isern who encouraged all residents to take part in the festivities.
He also thanked organiser and Head of the Union of Traders and other Attractions, Javier Orus for giving 1,000 children free tickets to the fair.
Mr Orus explained that the fair is aimed especially at families.
