THE Health Risk Map 2015 has listed the destinations that are the safest and most dangerous places for healthcare.

Published by health organisation International SOS, it ranks destinations in five categories, in order to help companies and travellers understand the risks they face in different countries when getting medical treatment.

Europe, North America and Australia are among the countries offering the highest levels of medical care, with Greece, Iceland, Japan, the UK and US amongst the best. But some popular tourist spots in Mexico, Turkey, Morocco and Thailand are declared as ‘medium risk’ on the map with emergency medical care described as ‘adequate.’

High-risk countries, marked red on the map, are nations where healthcare is almost non-existent or severely over-taxed. High-risk countries include Tanzania, Egypt, Laos and Cambodia.
