NEW taximeters and tariffs have been launched in Mijas.
The council has informed that the more than 110 cabbies based in Mijas have received taximeters and started to charge Junta de Andalucia regional government-approved rates, which match those of many nearby Costa del Sol towns.
A base charge of €3.15 plus €0.95 per kilometre with a minimum fare of €4.60 will be applied during the day, while at night (between 10pm and 6am) the base charge will be €3.78 plus €1.14 per kilometre with a minimum fare of €6.
Radio Taxi Mijas president Guillermo Martin said he was quite pleased with the council’s efforts to get the system, which cabbies and users had been requesting for some time, running.
